Terms & Conditions
Once the booking is made (or deposit is paid), it means you have read & agreed to our Terms & Conditions as below. These Terms and Conditions apply to accommodation bookings you make with us over the phone, via email, in person or online. We will rely on the authority of the person making the booking to act on behalf of all guests in their booking group. It is also your responsibility to inform the rest of the people in your group about our Terms & Conditions. It is very important to us that you understand those Terms & Conditions for your own benefit. NB For wedding and function bookings please refer to specific terms and conditions provided in hire agreement.
Definitions
Booking – the period for which you wish to stay at the property
Property – Glenaven Country Escape, 6065 New England Highway, Glenaven, QLD, 4355. Australia
Management – Owners, Managers or Staff of the Property
Guests – the persons who stay overnight at the property during the booking
Visitor – a person a guest has invited to visit the Property during the booking
If clarification of any word in the Terms and Conditions is required please contact the Property Management.
Acceptance & Responsibilities
Payment of a booking constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. Guests are responsible for their visitor/s.
Prices
All rates are quoted in AUD and are inclusive of GST.
Payment
A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking with the remaining balance to be paid 14 days prior to your check in date. Payment may be paid via credit card or direct deposit. Valid Credit card details are held as a bond for incidentals ie any damages, breakages, excessive cleaning needed.
Check- in / Check-out
Room check-in time is from 1400 hours on the arrival date and room check-out time is 1000 hours on departure date. Guests can arrive at the property early and leave late subject to prior arrangement and availability. Additional fees may apply.
Guests are responsible for their keys. A $100 charge will occur for loss or damage to the keys.
Cancellation
Cancellation fee of 50% value of the booking applies if guest cancels more than 14 days prior to booking date. If paid deposit only, then deposit is non-refundable.
No refund available if cancel up to 14 days from your booking date.
Management may offer a booking “change of date” in extenuating circumstances depending on availability. This decision is completely dependent on rebooking the current booking date and other considerations by Management.
PROPERTY: If the Property becomes unavailable for your occupancy due to unforeseen circumstances (eg. fire, storm, damage, management illness etc) then Management will inform you immediately and any moneys paid will be refunded in full.
Smoking and fires
There is No Smoking in any rooms or buildings. There are designated smoking areas. Cigarette Butts and matches must be extinguished and deposited in a bin or ashtray.
Due to the high risk of fires in the natural bush on the Property
Campfires are only to be lit in designated areas. Our local bushfire brigade has specific requirements for lighting fires and must be adhered to for everyone’s safety.
Failure to comply may result in you be as asked to leave the property immediately.
Limit of Liability
Landscape and animals
The property consists of 70% natural vegetation, steep cliffs with drop offs and rough terrain. Guests are advised that they need to keep away from the cliff edges and beware of vegetation that may cause injury
The Property also has many native animals that can cause injury including dingoes, ticks, snakes, goanna’s, wasps, bees, spiders, ants to name a few. The farm animals although of a tame nature are never completely trustworthy. Management shall not be held responsible for any damage or indirect damage caused from wildlife on the property. Supervision of minors needs to occur at all times and the enclosure (night yard) and the paddock are restricted access to Management being in attendance.
The property also consists of dams and creeks that are unfenced. When swimming and yabbying supervision of minors must occur at all times. No running, jumping or diving from the jetty at the house dam.
The property consists of a number of small caves and overhangs. These are used by native animals as shelters and residences. Do not venture into these caves.
Duty of care and safety
There is always a risk of injury on a property especially with such rugged terrain. Every duty of care is taken by Management to ensure you have an enjoyable and memorable stay. However the Property will not accept any liability for persons that become ill or injured while on the Property from unforeseeable incidents.
A first aid kit available.
Drinks
We are a BYO alcohol facility. Please respect the Australian alcohol Laws regarding alcohol consumption and underage drinking. Like any facility, any aggressive behaviour either verbal or physical towards other guests or staff at Glenaven Country Escape and you will be asked to leave the property immediately and if necessary the police will be called.
Pets
Pets may be allowed by prior arrangement with Management.
Any guests brining a pet onto the Property takes full responsibility for their pet and will use all necessary precautions to prevent harm to livestock, other animals and guests.
Pets are strictly not permitted inside the house and pet faeces must be collected and disposed of in a responsible manner. A cleaning fee will apply for any breach of this clause.
By bringing a pet onto the Property the customer is providing a warranty that their pet is free from disease, healthy and current with all vaccinations.
General
Abusive or violent behaviour towards Management, other guests or visitors shall not be accepted. Damage to property, intoxication, prohibited drug use, littering, speeding, fighting, excessive noise or failure to comply with directions may be asked to leave the Property immediately. The Property may charge the guest for any damages incurred, including loss or breakage to the building, facilities or fittings during their stay at the Property. Repair or replacement of damaged items is at the Management’s discretion. Guests must supply their credit/debit card details on arrival at the Property. Any amounts deducted by the Property will be advised by Invoice to the guests and occur within 48 hours of departure. If unable to supply a credit card a bond of $500 dollars is required on arrival and will be returned on departure should no damages occur.
If requested to leave the property for breach of any of the Terms and Conditions no refund is available and extra charges to rectify the breach may be incurred to the Guest.
The Management recommends that all guests purchase travel insurance as the Management team are not responsible for any illness, injuries or incidents during your stay at the Property.
Privacy Policy
Glenaven Country Escape shall only collect customers personal information that pertains to business directly associated with it. All personal information shall be kept confidential by Glenaven Country Escape.
Glenaven shall not provide any customers personal information to any third party that does not have a direct interest to Glenaven Country Escape.
Personal Credit and Debit Card details shall not be shared or used for any purpose except for the direct payment of services from a customer to Glenaven Debit/ Credit Card services provider. Glenaven shall not store any Debit or Credit Card details once full payment has been received for services rendered.
Problems or complaints
Please advise Management ASAP of any problems or issues that may affect you during your stay at the Property. The Management team will endeavour to rectify where possible any problems or issues that arise during their stay at the Property.
